The most self absorbed generation in the history of the world. So it’s really no surprise.

Sad as it is, none of them will survive when reality hits the fan. They have no smarts and no skills to survive once their phones go dead. Part of the plan?

Expand full comment

No. It’s not the most. These characterizations have played out many previous times in history just before the LORD GOD wiped the slate clean. America is the last slate to clean before the stage is taken down.

Two things can be true at the same time. In other words, you could be correct. But I am not wrong.

Parents don't care what their kids learn in school (lgbtq) or who their friends are, their having kids was an afterthought and over 90 % of younger families dysfunctional. This is why me and huby quit all community activities and home church, keep to ourselves, given up on humanity much. Friends are only likeminded, the rest we dumped when they joined the covid cult.

Yep. Sadly I pretty much agree. I’m 68. We gave up more than a decade ago at age 55, moved onto our 35ft sailboat, and left the rat race. Unfortunately we had to return to the US because of Covid and then even more unfortunately, we had to return to our home port in MI due to aging parent issues. 98 and 97, and it’s a mess. We are too old to live on the boat in the winter (we did it when we were younger). So until something changes, we live on the boat April-Oct and the escape to a small condo that we rent in Myrtle Beach for the winter. We have always been loners and contrarians so living on a small boat is perfect and we are able to have a good life without spending much money. But our circumstances make us nervous, as it is difficult to plan ahead. And renting the condo strains the budget. God seems to be putting us through a late life trial!

Thanks for sharing.

PS. We homeschooled both our kids through 8th grade.

Firstly, I did not qualify with “supposedly “. It actually indicated that the names given us could not be authenticated by us and that we are at the enemy’s mercy for the few historical truths he’s given us. And even those few are surrounded by lies.

Secondly, Gen Z is a product of the inadequacy of their parents’ genetic material--they didn’t create themselves. Your genetic material is your biological computer’s software. The apple does not fall far from the tree, the leopard can’t change its spots, and the Ethiopian can’t change its skin unless it babylons itself with a different “kind.”

Every generation of the up and coming first world civilization does get worse but it is by not only design but the people’s willingness to destroy themselves and their children.

Too bad you don’t understand what point Yeats is making. You assert “what is to come” when it happened centuries ago that the rough beast was born in the House of the LORD GOD. He’s also telling you it came from the Middle East. It’s why “. . . and all the world wondered after the beast.” Yeats is telling you the beast infiltrated the House of God and stole its identity. The House of God is not a church. It was a specific people. And they have been decimated by the enemy and those obeying him.

Just like I told Benson, you are exactly where the LORD GOD wants you.

Ok fine. Blah blah blah. And I have no doubt we are exactly where he wants us. Living a simple life, using few resources, spending little money, on our gracefully aging 35 ft sailboat. S/V Blessings has been our home for a large percentage of our lives. She has treated us well, kept us safe, and provided comfort and warmth on many a stormy night.

I’d argue the point on Yeats, given when he wrote the poem and the fact that he was as much looking forward as he was turning to the past. But it’s obviously not worth my time.

Best of luck to you.

Agreed that two things could be true at the same time, but declaring this generation as the “most” self-absorbed when this very characterization achieved by cultural manipulation is what led to previous falls is not provable by degree.

Expand full comment

Find me another generation more self absorbed than Gen Z. I’ll wait.

And BTW, I don’t care how they got that way. “Achieved by cultural manipulation” essentially proves my point.

Expand full comment

No, it essentially proves my point. And the manipulators would have to be those with the greatest access to propaganda and resources. They are the left hand of GOD as the right hand of GOD was terminated. It certainly wouldn’t be any one of the dumbed down masses, the fish in the sea, the two-legged cattle, or beasts of the field.

Let me leave you with this quote supposedly by Sun Tzu: “If you don’t know who you are or who your enemy is, you will lose every battle.”

Let me leave you with this paraphrased quote by supposedly Santiago: If you don’t know history or the past, you’re doomed to repeat it.

Let me leave you with this quote by supposedly Cicero: “A nation can survive its fools, and even the ambitious. But it cannot survive treason from within. An enemy at the gates is less formidable, for he is known and carries his banner openly. But the traitor moves amongst those within the gate freely, his sly whispers rustling through all the alleys, heard in the very halls of government itself. For the traitor appears not a traitor; he speaks in accents familiar to his victims, and he wears their face and their arguments, he appeals to the baseness that lies deep in the hearts of all men. He rots the soul of a nation, he works secretly and unknown in the night to undermine the pillars of the city, he infects the body politic so that it can no longer resist. A murderer is less to fear.”

From CNBC/Mammoth Poll

Nonessential Spending

A notable 29% of Gen Z consumers living paycheck to paycheck cite nonessential spending as one of the factors contributing to their financial distress, with 15% citing it as the top factor, marking them the most affected demographic.

As I said, the single most self absorbed generation in the history of the US. Actually in the world. Again, since you disagreed and provided a lot of jumbo jumbo I asked you to name another. I’m still waiting.

Let me leave you with something which actually perfectly captures our collective angst, tension, fear, ennui, about what is to come. And I don’t have to qualify with ‘supposedly’.

W.B Yeats

Second coming

“Turning and turning in the widening gyre

The falcon cannot hear the falconer;

Things fall apart; the centre cannot hold;

Mere anarchy is loosed upon the world,

The blood-dimmed tide is loosed, and everywhere

The ceremony of innocence is drowned;

The best lack all conviction, while the worst

Are full of passionate intensity.

Surely some revelation is at hand;

Surely the Second Coming is at hand.

The Second Coming! Hardly are those words out

When a vast image out of Spiritus Mundi

Troubles my sight: somewhere in sands of the desert

A shape with lion body and the head of a man,

A gaze blank and pitiless as the sun,

Is moving its slow thighs, while all about it

Reel shadows of the indignant desert birds.

The darkness drops again; but now I know

That twenty centuries of stony sleep

Were vexed to nightmare by a rocking cradle,

And what rough beast, its hour come round at last,

Slouches towards Bethlehem to be born?”

The real culprit is Satan, wow to the earth for he has been cast down and he knows his time is short. Without the protection of the Holy Spirit you have defense.

Well I did raise my two boys (ages 26 and 22) up right. I bought a home in the best school district in my state. They attended Church and Catholic grade school. I poured my heart and soul into raising them. They both graduated from college and have spectacular jobs. I think the biggest thing is being a good role model. I have never stolen anything in my whole life. If I forgot to pay for something, I would drive back to the store and make it right. They didn't get handed anything. When they were younger, they did chores to earn money. When they got older, they got jobs. It wasn't easy, but what's more important? A lot of parents are too lazy, or self absorbed to put the real work into raising their children.

I would hazard to say that the young people in your article were not so fortunate. The liberal demonization of family and religion are to blame, in my opinion. It truly does take a few bad apples to spoil the whole bunch.

As for the term, "As California goes, so goes the rest of the nation", I disagree. Most of the people in "fly over country" are a lot like me. We don't make the nightly news, but we are the heartland of this country. We are the silent majority, but we won't be silent forever.

When that happens watch out.

You might be right. Be even so, as I note above, I was born in CA. and leftist stupidity, arrogance and misanthopy woke me up, and now I am militantly anti fasco-Marxist left. And insofar as I represent CA., THAT is what will spread nationwide. A truly awake to the fasco-Marxist left, fighting their arrogance and evil

I don't understand why people keep electing these leftwing radical government officials - or do they? I suppose that they're so indoctrinated by the media that they don't see the correlation. I'm glad you got out of there!

Here is where the fasco-Marxists are too utterly STUPID to "get it'. Yes, what happens in California spreads to the rest of the country. Here's the thing. I am a dual US/Canadian citizen, but a kid in California, and born there. What happens there spreads?

Mais oui. And here's what happened. I was raised in the public schools, and went down the lefist road thru grad school. But, interestingly, the internal contradictions, hypocrisy and misanthropy of the left got so blatant that I woke up. Now I do everything I can to stop this evil.

So, what happened in CA. is that their arrogance, stupidity and historical ignorance woke me up. And so it is doing the rest of country. THAT, mes amis, is what will spread from CA.

WAY to many youth have been raised to think they are entitled to fortune without working for it. They bitch i am stealing their SS future while I worked and paid for 50 years and might not be anything left for them as they play video games and talk/text on their phones? Whatever brats! Not all are that stupid as i know some that have been raised right, to go to school and learn, subjected to a Christian family values, but sadly MOST just think they somehow deserve the icing on the cake with not a speck of working for it. They have been subjected to propaganda 24/7/365, both thru social media, the MSM and the place that should have never entered the game, their own education system, that lies to them daily. And sadly have "woke" parents to justify their insanity.

I used to also think the children are our future and now? I pray the few that have some brain cells, some morals and common sense, and haven't had their ability to produce more children with brains surgically removed from them, will hopefully be our future.

Why would anyone in their right mind live in California where lawlessness is legal? People and businesses are robbed , some are assaulted and police do nothing. The governor there wants the state to be a third world lawless hell hole. Why would patriots stay there anyway?
