My mom graduated from high school in 1929. She would tell me stories. People were dirt poor, but they still had self esteem. I don't think it's going to be anywhere nearly as civilized this time around.
Yes, this country "has come a long way baby" and sadly not much of it has been good. My mom was born in 1928, dad in 1915 and both had stories about living thru the Great Depression and people helped each other, not stole from them and killed them.
My mom said she worked for a rich Jewish family, doing household duties. She received room and board and $1 per week for spending money. I can't imagine most of our young people will even survive something like that. How will they pay their cell phone bill or buy their mocha lattes?

Many of the homeless were booted out of loony bins some years back, others drug addicts, Best cities make them leave the city limits. When people set up feeding centers that just draws more. Many are mental cases. Here is what some cities did, took trucks and cleaned up sidewalks tents, debris and made them leave.

Three decades ago, on a boyscout trip to the Philadelphia Zoo, I remember passing, on our way out several shops that sold perveted things, with neon lights....shop after shop after shop....of perversion and abomination. No wonder it's a current hellhole in Philadelphia. I remember walking past the grave of Ben Franklin...visitint the Liberty Bell and seeing the Constitution and Declaration of Independence way back then as well. I remember riding in a boat around Fort McHenry, where the Star Spangeled Banner was written all those years ago, seeing the island in Baltimore Harbor. Baltimore is also another cesspool...due to crime, bad leadership and lots of other things. It's a national shame.
