Yes He is the author of it all.

But for the saints this is not our end for the Bible speaks about God's wrath being poured out at the cross: “I will soon pour out my wrath upon you, and spend my anger against you” (Ezekiel 7:8). This takes us to the heart of what happened there: The divine wrath toward sin was poured out on Jesus.
So only being in Christ is the only hope of salvation from God Himself
Job 16:12 I was at ease, but He shattered me, And He has grasped me by my neck and shaken me to pieces; He has also set me up as His target.
Job 13:15-16 Though He slayed me, I will hope in Him. Nevertheless I will argue my ways before Him. This also will be my salvation, For a godless person cannot come before His presence.
Our hope is not in this world or any of it's systems including America our hope is in the finished work of the cross and that alone everything else is idol.
This country is nearly unrecognizable from just 5 years ago. Sad really.
