There is a lot of conjecture being stated as truth based on very limited evidence. Being in the Marine Corps I understand the fog of war. In all wars it's common for both side to set up false flags for an agenda, everyone does this both sides have done this, so don't take sides.
This is a very complex conflict with multiple agendas on both sides. But what you are hearing and seeing are all very edited clips from both sides to shape public opinion it's called propaganda.
The reality is this has been a very costly war for both sides. Ukraine has been caught up in a conflict of an agenda for the west vs an agenda for Russia and China vs several agendas in side Ukraine.
History, ever since Russia went communist the Ukrainians wanted no part of this. In 1931-32 Russia tried to commit genocide in Ukraine by starving millions of Ukrainians to death, while Ukraine was the bread basket for Russia. Most Ukrainians want freedom some don't, thus this is in part a civil war.
I'm not going to spend time with details here but my contact has witnessed horrific atrocities committed by the Russian in this war as well as Ukrainians (they do hate each other).
How this war ends I'm not sure, but there is a real danger of a greater war. Putin will be very reluctant to fire the first nuke because what that will do to his legacy but he won't survive if he does not, we shall see.
