At one time i worked for the Union Pacific and like a lot of other large companies the lead management went from people who worked there way up to strictly bean counters. What is important to them is the stock price, the employees, the public be damned.
The economy is unraveling right in front of us. Inflation is stopping to the critical level of buying to keep this going. Now the layoffs are happening and that will reduce spending and create more scarcity of products thus adding more inflation. This will not last long the unraveling has begun and the bank closures have begun. I seriously doubt we will make it to the 2024 election. When they pull the trigger on the default, the President will declare a national emergency, war will break out on all fronts and ir will be ugly. It seems that everyone is just waiting for this to happen, it's all about the timing. God help us all>
