I think there is a far more disturbing take on this than worrying about tyranny. The problem right now is that almost all personal information has been compromised. If you have it online, you have to expect that it has already been leaked 20 times over. Right now, people haven’t quite figured out how bad the problem is, but that is coming. The digital world has always depended on trust, on both the personal and business side of things. The social security number is now useless. At some point, the whole system of commerce we have right now is going to grind to a complete halt. Trying to use facial recognition is a possible solution, but….the facial profile of a person can be separated from their information in a system. This is as important as our failing financial and monetary system, but gets far less press.
I can tell you as a cop that has worked with the FBI, if you have any info that is digital they have access to it, I mean everything and they are making lists and checking them twice, they want to find out how has been naughty (terror threat) or nice (compliant).
The only people they will come for are the hard core preppers with lots of guns threatening violence, they will be the first to go and their leaders. See what Israel did to Hezbollah leaders?
If, you have all the guns and ammo in the world, but without good intelligence, without the ability to know and understand who your fighting and their capabilities, without air superiority, without heavy weapons and sophisticated long range weapons, without command and control and great logistics and supplies and with their ability to isolate groups, to out maneuver with speed and heavy equipment, yes you will be the first to die. This is not 1776 and to imagine anything like that is just not based in reality. Our hope is not in Guns or gold or human constitutions, but only in truly knowing Christ as our protection for eternity and not in this world. Jesus said my kingdom is not of this world. Our only Hope is Christ and His coming to bring in His kingdom, he does not need us to lay the groundwork for He has already done it on the cross. Criminals don't need these glasses to decide who's a target. Too much info is readily available through other means.
People are clueless how much of a trail they leave with email, text, phone, and of course SM already. Ring doorbells and echo devices form mesh networks in neighborhoods that track people w/phones that don't even have those other devices. Facial rec adds a little, but I would say mostly an additional confirmation layer in those circumstances.
There are means to defeat facial rec cameras until enough people use them and they are outlawed. Of course that doesn't work when it's someone's login ID.
I see the idiots volunteering palm data at whole foods and shake my head at their ignorance.
Everything will be digital, from the money, to the news to everything about you. They can deepfake anything you say or do and present it digitally and it will be totally different and you won't be able to tell the difference. You won't even be able to fact check the news, no one will know the truth.
They have been doing that for years now in some airports for overseas flts. Several of us were going to Belize and one of our team had really grown since his passport photo and the computer did not recognize him and he as detained. They eventually let him board, but this is what is coming, there will be no place to hide, no anonymity, no privacy.
