We were lucky enough to catch the housing bubble on two pieces of property and made enough to buy a house in a cheaper part of the US. So we are fortunate enough to own our house outright but the cost insurance goes up every year as does maintenance. So home ownership isn't cheap no matter what your situation is. And home improvements do not guarantee more equity. We are considering selling and buying something much smaller and easier to maintain. I think the key is to pay off everything and reduce outflow to bare minimum. But also it's important to live as healthy as possible. But that not cheap. We grind our own wheat and my wife bakes bread several times a week. Plus we can our garden each summer.
You'll own nothing and be happy. Its a good way to break down society at its core. Property ownership has a major psychological impact on people. Pride, belonging, community , respect, financial stability, etc

I never could understand how we are 38 trillion in debt not including the trillions in mortgages, credit cards, auto loans, student loans, etc when we only have several trillion in physical printed money. How is that possible? I believe the only way out of all this debt is to have a 7th Year Sabattical....every 7 years...land restoration, all your debt is canceled and liberation.

They should be put on the market, but they want us to be renters, not property owners, in the future.
