You are spot on with this article. For most of mankind's history, societies have had laws and punishments for breaking them. Without those simple tenets, chaos will surely ensue. Of course, there will always be people who break statutes no matter what. As the the consequences decrease, the number of citizens willing to violate the rules will increase until we reach a point where no one feels safe anymore. When we can no longer depend on government and law enforcement to protect us, people will begin to take the matter into their own hands. To say that we will be living in the wild, wild west will be an understatement. At least they had a sheriff who would try to "keep the peace". I really can't begin to understand these people's policies, other than they're having a deep desire to destroy everything and then rule over the rubble.
