IN Matt 24 the first 8 verses talk about the birth pangs all the events we see happening now leading to the tribulation that will "soon come after" these events.
Then Jesus tells us directly next in vs 9 & 10 global persecution to the true believers will come (Daniel 7:20-22 & Rev 13:7). Abandonment betrayal and hatred will be the rule of the day but those who remain faithful to the end will be saved. The church will fulfill it's mission to preach the gospel to the ends of the earth and then the final act, the Abomination of Desolation will occur 2 Thess 2:4. In short the next event, the first event of the tribulation (the first seal) a man on a white horse with a bow is the Anti-Christ who persecutes the saints (Eph. 6 his flaming arrows). He subdues the nations and goes after the Saints (vs 9 &10 above). This will be the next sign.
Absolutely correct, Michael! The word “soon” in Revelation 1:1 should have been translated as “suddenly” or “in quick succession” to be completely accurate. Once the events begin, they take place rapidly, like the birth pains Jesus compared them to. When birth pains begin they are obviously noticeable, but as things progress, they come faster and stronger until the great event.
How amazing the people of the Jewish faith are. It is estimated that the worldwide Jewish population is 16 million, or less.
