If all of this nation's atheists, agnostics, and other non-Christians suddenly moved to one part of the country and openly proclaimed a lack of belief in the Biblical God, then God performing "stunts" like earthquakes and eclipses and insect plagues, etc., would NOT affect any of those non-believers. Nothing "mundane" (meaning, "of the world") would even make non-believers affiliate the mundane events with a Creator.
We NEED to stop thinking like 2nd century villagers with zero education, seeing a hailstorm and falling to the ground begging God for mercy when God didn't so much send the hailstorm as He just let weather be weather. So the statement is correct, stating that it's the Hebrew calendar. BUT, the Hebrew calendar is (some think deliberately) off by 165 years, and (I believe) the Essene calendar is the accurate one. That does not mean that God cannot use the devices of men to make His point! I'm just saying that the Gregorian, Pharisaic, and Essene calendars are three completely different things. Study the Essenes! Jesus attended an Essene Yeshiva, as did Paul. The Essenes were the priests who stuffed the scrolls into the caves at Qumran for safekeeping.

Oh, I actually have a great deal of respect for Mr. Snyder. His writing is very good, and his research is extensive. The point I was trying to make is that, even when we think we're studying the right thing (e.g., Pharisaic calendar), we are still being deceived by the Nachash. Somewhere along the line a rabbi, who did not care for Christianity, managed to "adjust" the calendar. We need to be concentrating on the Essenes and the Essene calendar for our date information, as the rest is a corruption of what God really intended. The Apostles in Matt 24 ask Jesus, “Tell us, when will these things happen, and "what will be the signs" of Your coming, and of the end of the age?” (notice they ask for signs Just like the Sanhedrin did, see what Jesus said. Matt 24:4-28.

More miracles on earth, (healing the sick raising the dead and casting out demons, preaching the Gospel by the power of the Holy Spirit and people were convicted of sin, repenting and believing, i.e. transformed lives/build His Church) no, what the Holy Spirit and Christ were doing was not good enough for them, they demanded he perform a spectacular sign from heaven, something out of this world. Jesus starts by comparing the the signs of the weather and the "signs of the times" This phrase (signs of the times) by Christ is only found here in scripture thus it can only be used in the context Jesus put it in. This refers to world events happening here on earth in the affairs of men (right in front of their eyes in real time), at that time and at all times for us today. Jesus then adds, in this context that it is a wicked (evil) generation that seeks after that kind of sign. Mark 8 states "this generation will get no other sign" (except the sign of Jonah)! What sign did Mark say would not happen? What the leaders were demanding (a sign from heaven).
