They are locally sourced from organic farmers and ranchers. I buy meat from several different ranchers, Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas. I sometimes buy meat at Sprouts Market, which for a grocery chain, has incredible grass-fed meats. Even their grain-fed is far better than the national grocery chains. We don’t buy prepared foods, except for jarred tomatoes from Italy for pasta dishes. No GMOs or glyphosate in Italy and the ingredients are only tomatoes, no additives. We make our own cream cheese, sour cream, and crème fraiche for our recipes. We make our own beef and chicken stock and our own bread. It’s a lot of work but keeps us out of the doctor’s office.

Here in Texas taking care of my dad our options are pretty limited, but our house in Utah is in a farming community near the Wyoming and Colorado borders, so our options are virtually unlimited. We split a steer we get from son’s in-laws with our kids, buy a lamb from our daughter’s in-laws, fresh truly free range eggs from neighbors, veggies from friends and neighbors, and I have a bee hive that usually produces 3 gallons of honey every year. Nobody in the area that I know of uses anything that would hurt my bees or effect the meat or vegetables.
