This article reminds me of the "Broken Earth" series of books I read a few years back. At the time, it seemed like pure fantasy, but maybe it wasn't. I actually heard there was an earthquake in Chicago recently. The New Madrid fault runs down the middle of the US.
Not only have people been watching too much TV, they've been playing too many video games. Being able to win an online game is nothing remotely like surviving an actual catastrophe. in the real world, most of these snowflakes would be the first to die. Fortunately, I am getting old and tired and I am not afraid to be with the Lord.
It is true that too many are watching video games. Sadly that is part of the brain washing that is happening. Yuval Noah Harari of WEF fame clearly stated that the way to keep th useless eaters busy is with drugs and video games. That can be seen clearly in most societies today.
I live in the People's Socialist Dystopia of Chicago. No earthquake recently that I felt. We did have one about 20 years ago, very, very minor. New Madrid is centred around the area between Memphis and up almost to St. Louis, roughly. Anything could happen, of course, but generally northern IL. is not expected to have any effect. Interestingly, the area around Charleston, SC is active, as well as my old home town, the Ottawa/Montreal corridor.
But the big one, besides the California faults (generally transverse, not subduction, so it won't slide into the sea) that concerns me is Cascadia, which IS a subduction (think the Indonesian tsumami) and IS due to go off. One expert said everything west of I-5 (ALL the Seattle area, Portland, etc. and then my other old home town of Vancouver, and Victoria in BC would all be destroyed. Liquifaction would occur in many parts, in addition to the tsunami. When I last visited the OR. coast, I didn't not go due to the threat, but I DID always have an evacuation plan in mind, and a gallon jug of water or two, and some edibles like some cans of sardines.
Yes, we will all be at home the the Lord sooner than we think. But as Billy Graham said, he didn't see "retirement" in the Bible, so tho you may be older, I would encourage you to continue to witness to your faith to the younger generation, to the few who will listen.
