A very informative and helpful list, Michael.

I would like to add three things to your list, prepper basics:

51) Water

52) Water

53) Water

The three "3's":

3 minutes without O2 to the brain

3 days without fresh H2O

3 weeks without nourishment

Water either saves lives or kills, depends on whether it's clean to drink.

Find and guard a source or stock up somehow, but you gonna need lots of clean water to survive.

Onward, Christian soldiers!

I've been trying very hard to stock up. But the biggest things are DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA HOW MUCH ALL OF THIS COSTS? AND WHERE DO YOU PUT IT? Emergency cash? Hahahahahahaha! A conventional generator? To run with what gasoline? A solar generator? COST? Face it. If you're in an urban or suburban area, you're pretty much screwed. If you're retired or elderly on a fixed income, you're pretty much screwed. Unless you're VERY proficient at weaponry, you're pretty much screwed. If you have health issues, you're pretty much screwed. Go ahead and stock up, but if you're vulnerable, like the most of us, your stuff will get stolen, your neighbors will rat you out, your stuff will run out before the emergency ends. It all sounds so logical and reasonable. I hope I go in the first wave.
