Problem is, horses (and other barnyard animals) will soon be looked at as a food source on-the-hoof. Cattle in a pasture are sitting ducks, field-dressing a steer with a chainsaw can be amazingly quick, although very inefficient. Security is very difficult, continuous patrols are the only way. That requires a horde of security personnel for 24 hour watch.
Same with gardens. The trick is to be the first one to harvest "your" crops. Don't bother planting gardens you can't protect.
We moved to another area of our country over four years ago to get ready for what's happening. We are preparing the best we can and it does help us to feel better about the future knowing we are doing all we can with God's help and then come what may.
Clearly Satan is alive and well here on earth and he is being unleashed big time. On the horizontal level we all need to do what we can to prepare, but not all of us can do the same and none of us no matter how much we prep will ever really have enough. In the end how things end for each of us is fully in God's hands fore he sovereign over all the events of men. In the end our only hope is in Him, His finished work on the cross for our salvation by faith in His grace and Him returning to rescue those in Christ and glorify us, so that we will rule with him. If we are not in Him we can't be glorified in Him and we can not rule with Him, there is no hope. Jesus already told us everything will come under Satan's control and the saints will be persecuted even onto death. So survival is not about surviving in this world but the world when Christ returns and for that to be a good thing we must be in Him before that day.
