First we had the War on Drugs. That catastrophe left us with countless addicts stumbling around every city and of course the fentenyl crisis.

Then we had the War on Poverty which brought us to where we are today with people living in tents in the middle of a north American winter and those lucky enough to have some kind of home lining up at food banks.

Please let us not have a War on Homelessness or we will all be in the streets.

America is facing spectacular defeats in these and just about every other War because the government is acting like a child who knows better than his parents.

We the people are going to have to retake control and start making some common sense decisions

As a prime example forcing a tent camp to pack up and move to somebody else's back yard solves nothing. We have allowed decision makers to treat symptoms of symptoms. The root problem has been ignored long enough that it's practically buried.

How about taxpayers councils who tell the government what to do and how we want it done?

My rent is more than 50% of my monthly pension, so I can’t save any money. I need to move, but any other options are sky-high, higher than what I (barely) pay now. And, by the way, many States are addressing the homeless issue by letting homeowners build ADU’s, ruining neighborhoods, and of course, charging the highest amount of rent that they can get away with. How does that help the homeless?
