The strait was open before the US (Trump administration, puppet of Israel) attacked to prevent the 'existential annihilation of the Jewish people according to Netanyahu, who has has nuclear weapons for 40 years and threatens a"Sampson option" to take everyone down with him if Iran get even one nuclear weapon. So Iran closes the strait. Then Trump closes the strait. The Iran double closes the strait. Not to be outdone, Trump triple closes the strait and threatens annihilation of Iran. The "man of peace". We the Sheeple watch on tv and take sides, wave flags and go down like the Titanic on the hubris of a mad man who thinks "winning" is getting his way by any means necessary. Not exactly "MAGA".

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Total insanity in progress.

(Some times I wonder if they're pulling our legs)......

Bowman's avatar

Just an observation

Iran not a good country

Strait was open for all before

We bombed the living hell out of Iran

Now we want 29% to let anyone thru

Did I miss anything

Only Mobsters pull this shit !

Elusive1's avatar

How about if Iran comes and begins charging tolls at one of our bodies of water/ports??? The same people "thinking" it''s ok for djt to charge tolls there would be pulling their hair out.

You can't make this stuff up. 🤡🤡🤡🤡

John of the West's avatar

How is Trump charging a twenty percent toll any different from what the Iranians want to do? What am I missing here?

Elusive1's avatar

🎯🎯🎯

This is crazy world. You're not missing a thing!

John of the West's avatar

I’m missing the days when it wasn’t crazy world.

Elusive1's avatar

That makes 2 of us. I miss it big time. And I have to remind myself, this ain't gonna get any better!!! 😢🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡🤡

The lamps are going out all over the world and we shall never see them turned back on again.

Bowman's avatar

WHO is getting this 20%?

We the people 🤣

Oil Companies 🤣

My guess is Trump and cronies will pocket it

I’m willing to be proven wrong 🤡

I was just reading a post on another blog that sleeper cells may be trying to infiltrate our borders. Not surprising! Given how much our borders are wide open. Another post said to keep our eyes open for foreigners acting suspiciously! How would anyone determine what to look for. I was sitting in a coffee shop and was looking at a parking lot across the street and observed several crazy looking and acting people. I assumed they were high on drugs but who knows these days!

Alan's avatar

This is just garbage talk to put fear into the average American to drum up support for further stupidity.

Elusive1's avatar

There could be a bit of truth but who's to believe them anymore!!! Reminds me of the story of the boy who cried wolf!

🤡🤡🤡🤡

Elusive1's avatar

And yet the BIGGEST danger we face, is "ruling" over us. Don't let these threats make you fear or be distracted!

Etudiant's avatar

The strait can be open for all, but striking a single ship will halt the flow.

So Iran does not need to fight, it suffices to pot a tanker every few days to stop traffic.

Presumably the US blockade aims to stress Iran, but they have common borders with Russia and active land routes to China, so the blockade may not be airtight.

That suggests a long and painful engagement.

William Fedorich's avatar

You may be right, Michael. What puzzles me is that the US has not used non-nuclear EMP bombs to strategically wipe out the major cities, regional capitals and the Strait of Hormuz area.

What are the chances of such an attack?

Distinction: Military forces must distinguish between civilian objects and military targets. Power grids primarily support civilian populations, making their blanket destruction unlawful.

Proportionality: Military advantage gained must outweigh the incidental loss of civilian life. Knocking out an entire grid causes immediate, cascading failures—such as the collapse of hospitals and water systems—which human rights organizations argue is disproportionate.

Collective Punishment: Targeting a nation’s civilian infrastructure to pressure its government or force a political deal is prohibited under the Geneva Conventions.

Elusive1's avatar

Thsnk you for laying that out but,

djt doesn't seem to follow anything except the little voice in his head.

Am I wrong about that, that he would disregard any of your points if/when he FINALLY feels cornered?

Puddin Tain tortie love🤎🖤🧡's avatar

Yeah, I really wonder if even his most devoted toadies have begged/blocked him from breaking the Geneva Convention. Because he has been making that threat a LOT.

So he’s making the threat and Iran pretty much knows he “can’t” hurt their civilian infrastructure. Thus they consider his constant threat to be moot. But what if he finds a way to force the crime against Iran anyway? Will he “trump-talk” his way out of The Hague? Like he’s Trump-talked his way out of every crime he’s done here?

Alan's avatar

George W should have been in the Hague a long, long, time ago. The US never signs the treaty on the World Court for a reason!

Elusive1's avatar

"Find a way to force the crime" ....... how so?

And what about the school? Is that what you mean abt talking himself out of ....? I've read it was a deliberate strike and also that it wasn't. Idk

William Fedorich's avatar

Good point.

The Iranian military uses the power grid for command and control purposes, including the subjection of the population.

A Machiavellian would say the EMP attack is the quickest way to destroy command and control of the enemy and permit the civilians to deal with the regime in the streets.

Alan's avatar

Did you not see the millions who attended the Ayatollah's funeral? You may want to believe that the regime is hated by the majority of their population but that is not necessarily the case.

Elusive1's avatar

I don't think we should've ever started this. Do you?

And maybe the answer to your question is imcompetence. If you know about their power grid, then I'd assume that our govt/military does also. If they seek success, whatever that is cause it seems to constantly change, lol then they sure don't seem to be in any hurry. 🤔

rpaco's avatar

Well if I were the owner of a ship, I would rather pay Iran 2% for safe passage than 20% to someone whose blockade and general mental stability is a toss up from one minute to the next.

Netanyahu must have copies of the Epstein files or parts thereof that are so damning that Trump can be brought back under control within minutes of showing any vestige of common sense. After all it is Natanyahu's aim to kill everyone in the middle east and establish "Greater Israel"

It is sad that a race once decimated by genocide, should now think it acceptable to use it on other adjacent countries, not to mention its own daily continuing slaughter and starvation of unarmed civilians within its own borders.

Surely the biggest obstacle to peace in the middle east is Israel. (And Trump of course!)

So the world and America in particular will suffer (Except the Epstein class who wont even notice!)

Today President Trump announced the U.S. will guarantee safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz—for a modest fee of 20% of the cargo’s value. Iran quickly undercut the offer, charging just 15%, plus a signed photo of the Ayatollah and free two tickets to a public stoning. This might be considered a small victory for free markets.

Geoff's avatar

Iranian fees are actually around 1 to 2%

Howard Feldman's avatar

That was before Trump set the market price for free passage at 20%.
