It was able to tell me what the instructions were, which wasn’t a big deal, but then took a very accurate guess as to what the code was used for and where the data it was using came from. That was the moment I realized we are in deep trouble unless we can figure out a way to manage both the AI and the impact it will have on society. Anyone who still thinks it is hype is being willfully ignorant.
Yes, I have experienced in legal costs avoidance, tens of thousands of dollars and two weeks of waiting for the attorney(s) to do their legal work and justify their legal fees; all in about five minutes on-line with my monthly paid subscription to ChatGPT. The legal profession will be one of the first white collar professions to implode. So will CPAs.
We need to get a grip. The Technocrats are competing with a Being who can extemporaneously write perfect DNA while He builds an entire universe out of nothing to give Man a place to live. AI is a machine which cannot think without a prompt and all the knowledge of the Web and certainly cannot create something new from scratch. When the new owners took over they eliminated many jobs and had AI check our "expert" answers to historical questions and firearm problems. My answers were delayed and put into the "pending" box until AI could check my answer. After a week it would approve my answer, I would then submit the next answer be done by AI as I had better things to do then check historical records and books for information if AI could do it better. I quit answering "expert" questions and the forums shrank down to nothing with little to no postings by anyone....it's a shell with all the old timers leaving the forums and going elsewhere. Even forum administrators left as they could only tell you to submit a ticket for a problem, and those took forever to answer.
